SpiralCAD

An in-house CAD engine that reads and writes native DWG, in the browser. No AutoCAD licenses, no third-party subscriptions.

SpiralCAD is a Chilean CAD engine built on the public DWG specification: it reads drawings from R13 to R2018 and saves re-editable native DWG in five versions, without AutoCAD or royalty-bearing libraries. It runs as a web application — review, measure, annotate, take off quantities and print without installing anything on the workstation — and as the drawings module of the Spiralway platform, integrated with the municipal case file. Backed by over 1,100 automated tests.

Key capabilities

  • DWG reading from R13 to R2018 and native DWG writing in R2000, R2004, R2010, R2013 and R2018; round-trip DXF
  • Full review in the browser: measurement, annotation, quantity takeoff with reports and drawing quality control
  • BIM: IFC4 import, export, checking and validation with quantity takeoff (QTO), aligned with BIM mandates
  • Civil works: terrain, alignments with superelevation and profiles, cross sections, corridors and networks, with DXF, PDF and LandXML output
  • PDF plotting with pen styles (CTB) and standardized page setups
  • Structural analysis by finite elements (CalculiX solver), fatigue and buckling
  • AI copilot over the drawing and the model
  • Open output formats — DXF, IFC4, LandXML, PDF, STEP — and per-seat licensing with its own console

Who it's for

Public sector

Building departments, planning offices and agencies paying AutoCAD LT seats just to look at drawings: review, measure and annotate building permits without per-seat licenses, with every annotation tied to the case file when running inside the platform.

Companies

Engineering firms and builders that need to review drawings, take off quantities and produce DWG sheets without per-seat costs or vendor lock-in.
